How to save some money in London
Hi all
My name is Natey. I used to live in several countries around the world. Living abroad for quite some years, i have learned a lot of tips and rules on how to survive in a foreign land. Life sure can be quite tough especially when you are young, single and alone. So with this blog, i hope to share with you what ever tips i tumbled upon while living here in London.
The tips in this blog are mainly from my personal experience. They might be very useful to you or totally useless.
1. First of all, when shopping for groceries, try to find the cheapest prices around. Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury are the most popular ones. Sign up as their member, get a store card (like Tesco),so when you spend and use the their card, you'll get some points. When the points accumulated to certain amount, you can redeem the points for some shopping vouchers that can be used on groceries to hotel breaks. You can also shop at Lidl. Even though there are not so many choices there, but the price can be very very low. Go to Lidl on Mondays to grab even better deals.

2.Get as much free clubcard as possible.Nectar card, Boots Advantage card, AirMiles to name a few. Read their condition carefully. But usually these kind of cards do not require you to do anything else but spend with them, the more you spend the more points you'll receive. You can then redeem the points with shopping vouchers with them or any of their partners.
3.If you travel to school, or work by public transport, buy Oyster card. You can save a lot especially when you use alot of different kind of bus/train routes.
4. Go to carboot sales and hunt for very cheap items, range from clothes to electrical. This is a very popular event especially during summer. Check with your local communities where to find the nearest carboot in your area.Dont forget to polish your haggling skills first.
5. Choose your Gas and Electricity suppliers carefully. If you already have an account with any gas and electricity suppliers, check with Uswitch to know are you getting a good deal. And switch to a better one if you are currently paying too much for your bill.
6. Use cheap calling cards to call anywhere around the world. 1st4callingcards.com is where you can get best rates for the international calling cards.
7.During winter, try to minimise the amount of heater used.
8.Turn the lights off when not used.
9. Use travel agents to but flight tickets. Book early. Try Lee's Travel at leestravel.com and sign up. They will send you the latest offer by email.
